The Crossroad for Silver Moo Goo
“Show me the path where I should go, O LORD; point out the right road for me to walk.”
My husband and I have an adopted family member; a cat by the name of Silver Moo Goo a/k/a Moogie. He became a family member because of an unexpected bend in the road. As it turned out, there was a blessing from God waiting at the bend.
After being dumped off in a RV Park as a kitten, “Moogie” was lying sleeping at the bend of a road and was accidentally run over by a pickup truck. He immediately dragged himself over to our RV. Oftentimes we arrive at life's crossroads and this was one for him, as well as my husband and myself. It was at that bend in the road that he adopted us, and he became our family member.
During the recuperation period of rest and relaxing, the Vet gave the impression that it may be doubtful that he would be able to jump again. But, God had “a much wider vision” for this little man. Cats like to climb and he is one of them. Our home has open spaces from the top of the walls to cathedral ceilings. Since he has easy access to the wide shelf on the top of the wall that presents a very attractive cat walk. For him, the world looks better when he is looking down on it, and our world looks better because he brings laughter and joy into our household.
Are you at “The Bend in the Road” in your life right now? Do you feel as though a pickup truck has run over you? Is there a crossroad ahead of you and you do not know which road to take? Is it difficult for you to see a brighter tomorrow?
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote: “Be still sad heart...and cease repining...Behind the clouds the sun is still shining...”. Perhaps a recuperation period of rest and relaxing is needed to allow God to “share your load”. Psalm 32:8 states: “The LORD says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you”. God yearns to guide you with His love and wisdom. He offers to teach you the best way to go. Accept His advice that is written in the Bible.
A godly person's faith grows during times of uncertainties and crossroads. Their faith disables each obstacle and pierces any adverse appearances in the path. In quietness turn to God and ask Him to help you, and place your future into His hands. Faith is that God-given ability which, when used, brings the invisible solution into plain view. “God has a much wider vision” for you.
Just as my husband and I were at “The Bend in the Road” for Silver Moo Goo, the Lord is waiting at the bend of the road for you. Ephesians 1:5 states: “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure” (NLT). God's grace will be with you, and He will stretch out His right hand to guide you at the crossroad and around the bend. He will also reward you with a “brighter tomorrow”!
Lord God, thank You for guiding us along the best pathway for our life. Amen.
