Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God's people.
~ Philemon 1:7
I once read a story in a book written in 1938 by Mrs. Chas. E. Cowman about an older gentleman who spread kindness to others. He carried a small can of oil with him every place he went. When he opened a door that grated, he would place a little oil on the hinges. When he opened a gate that was difficult to open, he oiled the latch. As he walked his path of life, he lubricated all the hard places. His kindness was not lost because it continued onto others.
As we perform our daily activities we should watch and listen for opportunities to express kindness to others such as smiling to people who may only touch your life once or a prayer for someone who is going through challenges. Also, watch and listen for the Lord's kindness coming your way. He often expresses it in the most unexpected ways!
Lord God thank you for the kindness that You show to us. Help us to be mindful to express kindness to others in our daily life. Amen.
