Heavenly Bodies
An hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
~ John 5:28
There are 558 mentions of Heaven in the Bible. The fact that the dead will someday rise and be judged, the wicked to judgment and the saved to live with God in Heaven, is repeated time after time. Many people will tell you that you are a fool to believe in Heaven; and Hell is even less popular. But to deny Heaven, a real, tangible Heaven that is going to come to all who die in the faith and fear of Christ, is to deny Christ Himself. It is calling God a liar.
I would like to state for the record that I believe in Heaven and I believe that I'm going there when I die. I don't know how long it will take or what will happen before I get there; I don't know what I will look like or think or know; but I darn sure believe it will be a lot nicer than anything I've ever seen or imagined.
Human beings tend to fear the unknown; it is natural. And if there is something truly unknown, it is heaven. But we will be rewarded for our faith in God's promise of a wonderful afterlife, by that afterlife itself. And to bolster our faith, He has given us a proof of His power over death, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Lord, let me always remember the certainty of heaven, for all who live in faith of Christ. Amen.
